newcleo plc has announced the completion of its acquisition of Bonifait Pesage, a French manufacturer specializing in nuclear-grade scales and precision weighing equipment. This strategic move is significant for newcleo as it aims to enhance its vertical integration strategy in the nuclear energy sector.
Founded in 1954, Bonifait Pesage serves high-profile customers across the French nuclear sector, and its expertise will be crucial for newcleo's planned mixed-oxide (MOX) fuel manufacturing facilities in the United States and Europe. The acquisition allows newcleo to secure a reliable supply of specialized weighing equipment, which is essential for tracking and controlling nuclear materials.
Stefano Buono, CEO and Co-Founder of newcleo, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "Bonifait Pesage adds a further building block to the vertically integrated supply chain we have assembled to produce MOX fuel for our lead-cooled fast reactors. Having their expertise and technologies inside newcleo will allow us to build our MOX fuel facilities on a supply chain we know and can rely on."
The acquisition is a continuation of newcleo's strategy, which has seen it acquire several specialist suppliers since 2023. By integrating Bonifait Pesage into its operations, newcleo aims to lower supply-chain exposure and tailor equipment to its specific requirements.
Bonifait Pesage reported revenue of approximately €2.1 million in 2025, and the transaction valued the company at an equity value of €1.8 million. The purchase consideration includes a combination of cash and newcleo shares.
As newcleo integrates Bonifait Pesage, the company aims to leverage the growing demand for nuclear energy and support its historical customers while expanding its capabilities in the nuclear fuel cycle.
Details were not available in the SEC filing regarding the next steps following the acquisition.
